Dr. Julian Conway McGill

Managing Director, Glenauk Economics

Dr Julian is an agricultural economist and currently the Managing Director of Glenauk Economics, an advisory firm focused on the economics of crops, agricultural commodities and their value chains. He holds a MA Economics from Edinburgh University, MPhil and PhD in Economic History from Oxford University. A large part of his research is dedicated to the economics of palm oil and the lauric oils as well as their many derivatives and co-products in food, feed and fuel. His main research interest is in understanding the ingenious ways in which people achieve superior margins, despite operating in a commodity market. Previously, he was with LMC International, establishing the Kuala Lumpur office and directing research and business development across Southeast Asia.
